PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

DAMN YANKEES
THE HISTORIC HOLLY THEATER, DAHLONEGA, GA

Musical By George Abbott and Douglass Wallop. Music and Lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross.

Faust meets professional baseball in this Broadway classic!

"Six Months Out Of Every Year," Joe Boyd is a loyal baseball fan who is frustrated that his favorite team, the Washington Senators, will never win the pennant especially because of those "Damn Yankees." In a moment of weakness, he declares that he would sell his soul to the devil to win the pennant. Unfortunately, the devil is listening.

Old Joe Boyd says “Goodbye, Old Girl” to his wife Meg and heads off as young Joe Hardy with the charmingly evil Mr. Applegate (aka the devil) to join the Washington Senators baseball team, for the team is down and out and just needs a little “Heart” and "Shoeless Joe From Hannibal, Mo" to help them find it. When Joe realizes he misses his wife and wants to go home, the devil calls in his secret weapon, Lola. Joe quickly finds out that with "A Little Brains, A Little Talent" that “Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets."

Will Joe Hardy return to his beloved wife? Will he lose his soul for all eternity? Will the Washington Senators finally win that pennant?
