A Dream!

I have to echo the last reviewer's opinion on this show. This was the most fun I've had at the theatre in longer than I care to remember. I've been in 3 different productions of MSND and seen more than 6 in the past three years, and this one is, hands down, the best of the lot (this includes the production at Canada's Stratford festival). The ensemble hit every characterization perfectly, the transitions from character-to-character were seamless, Sally Robertson's direction was tight and lively, and Shakespeare's words were clear, understandable and were the music that underscored the entire enterprise. By all means, see this one before it goes away!

(For the record, Geoff Uterhardt was one of the loveliest Fairy Queens to ever flounce across the stage!) [POST A COMMENT REGARDING THIS REVIEW]
Let Hilarity Ensue

7 actors, 22 parts. I heard and understood the concept, but I didn't believe it could be done. Having seen it, however, I'm surprised it's not done this way more often. Deft costuming, engaging props and versatile actors fill in the spaces so the audience, while challenged to keep up with the break neck pace, is never left out in the cold. They were, however, falling off their chairs and covering their faces they were laughing so hard the night I saw it. All the ensemble discharged their parts admirably (especially the Wall). We're going again. See you there. [POST A COMMENT REGARDING THIS REVIEW]
