The Foreigner, by Larry Shue
The Foreigner at Kudzu Playhouse
Saturday, January 31, 2004
5.0
This is one of the funniest shows I have seen. The script is clever & witty. The set looks like a lodge and, due to the small theater, I felt like I was right there in their lodge. The southern accents were realistic. Andy Meeks (Ellard) has enough energy for five people. Jeannie Hinds as Miss Betty is reminiscent of everyone's favorite southern aunt or grandmother. Jason Meinhart (Charlie) was hilarious. Brian Godleski as the Reverend David Lee is as slick as any TV evangelist you ever saw. I brought my family and we all, children included, laughed harder than we have in a long time. All the actors did a great job, and I encourage you to see this show if you are looking for a fun evening out.
