The Taming of the Shrew, by William Shakespeare
Entertaining Modern Interpratation
Sunday, April 10, 2005
4.0
This production features an energetic and cohesive cast who have a firm grasp on Shakespeare's vision. This is a modern dress production with a contemporary set. Each character is unique, interesting and easy to relate to. Shawna Monson's performance as Katarina is bold and refreshing. She has fire and obstinance that contrasts her vulnerability and obedience. She finds her match with Tony Foresta's Petruchio. He seduces, charms, and expertly attempts to tame her. The young lovers Bianca and Lucentio, played by Jonathan French and Erin Greenway, provide an interesting and sexy subplot. Jeffery Zwartjes physical humor as Grumio offers some of the most brilliant moments in the play. Director Jas Sustrich offers Atlanta a truly entertaining and engaging interterpration of this Shakespearean comedy.

The Last Five Years, by Jason Robert Brown
***A MUST SEE****
Sunday, February 13, 2005
5.0
"The Last Five Years" is a treat not to be missed. Whether you are a fan of Jason Robert Brown (and who isnt?) or you just love to hear talented young actors sing their hearts out, this show is a must see. Eric and Jerrica Catania are an incredible team. These newly-weds bring you into their world, keep you captivated and leave you breathless. Jerrica's clear and powerful voice compliment her honest and moving portrayal of Kathy. Eric's sky-high tenor rocks and sooths and he succeeds in making us love and hate Jamie. I am sure that the Catania's are going to rock the professional world of musical theater and you will say..."I knew them when they did Last Five Years in Atlanta..." Take my advice, go check out "The Last Five Years"
