Steel Magnolias, by Robert Harling
A Tremedous Show
Monday, March 12, 2007
5.0
This was one of the best productions of this show that I have ever seen. I actually liked it better than Georgia Ensembles recent version. You really believed that the women in the show were friends. All of these women did a fab job, but special kudos to Tomi Lavinder as Mlynn and Pam Sharpe as Clairee. Their timing was excellent. I must give credit to director, Rob Hardie for guiding this ensemble to a very believable and heart warming experience. His staging worked very well. I highly recommend this show. I did hear some noise backstage, and that was distracting. The curtain speech about a Christian band was a bit strange as well. But I guess they needed to promote them for a show. That is the worst that i can say, I'm afraid. Also, the ambiance at this theater was nice, but I wish they had sold drinks at intermission. I guess I am getting too Picky. The show it's self, the acting and direction: I give a solid 5.
