Seussical the Musical, by Steven Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens

I am confused about all the remarks about community theatres making excuses for shows because there are kids in them or they have to make their own costumes etc. I haven't seen ANYONE from Blackwell Playhouse even post here, not management, cast or director. Without posts where are you getting that they are making excuses?

My wife and I went to see this production Friday night at Blackwell Playhouse. The show itself was cute with some very funny moments. All the main players did a good job with the material they had to work with. A few of the songs could have been cut from the production to cut down the time of the show and add to the enjoyment of it. A couple of standouts were the school secratary and principal who were very funny. Many of the jokes were "inside" humor that I'm sure real teachers would love, while we were able to appreciate their situation and laugh along.

The theatre was very comfortable, although a larger crowd would have made the experience even better. The lights were really good for this show and the sound was actually all done onstage by the principal who played his electric piano. The set was very well done and had you feel as though you were sitting in the back of the teachers lounge. All in all, a nice night out.
