12 Angry Men, by Reginald Rose
This play did what theater is supposed to do: it enriched my life.
Monday, February 10, 2003
5.0
I hesitated to give this a 5 rating only because I am conservative in my use of any rating which designates "perfection", or conversely "worthless" (0). But in this case, a 4 just wasn't good enough. The characterizaion was fascinating. The acting was mesmerizing. I would give kudos for outstanding performances, but I found no favorites among this talented cast. I will admit to a particular admiration for Will Fowlkes and Jay Christi (former mutual cast members of Cheaper by the Dozen) who allowed Director David Kronawitter to stretch them to new heights of the art of portrayal. To sum it up: I believe this was the only play I've ever seen which has kept me in my seat during intermission simply wishing it would hurry and resume.
