PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

Rivalries and misunderstandings threaten to tear apart a Southern family as it gathers for the 65th birthday of its patriarch Big Daddy (played by Dennis Lewallen) one hot summer night at their plantation house in Mississippi. Because of Brick’s broken ankle, the party takes place in the barren bedroom of golden boy Brick (Atlanta newcomer Hugh Lehman) and his wife Maggie the Cat (Kimberly Jürgen). However, the festive celebration is broken by sins of the past, the greedy machinations of Brick’s older brother Gooper (Eric Miller) and his very fertile wife Mae (Claire Christie), and hopeless attempts by everyone to ignore truths.
Additional characters includes: Big Mama (Leslie Truman), Reverend Tooker (Douglas Curlin), Doctor Baugh (Kevin Garrett), the children (Madeline May, Connor Dougherty, Lizzy O’Connor, Ellie Trice), Sookey (Barbara Washington), Lacey (Christopher Gaither), Daisy (Detra Hicks), Brightie (Joshua Roden).
The production is directed by Dr. David Klein. Valerie Peek serves as stage manager.
