PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

At Savage Tree's electrifying multi-genre festival, professional artists and brave community members come together to explore the theme of Dignity vs. Despair, with a liberal dash of humor, through music, art, dance, film, literature and theater. The centerpiece of this spring's festival is Rod Serling's "Requiem for a Heavyweight." Company-created pieces include the riotous interactive genre-defying "Off the Ropes" and the hilarious 1950s television variety show "The Kankle King Show." An afternoon of family-friendly improv and art-making workshops allow community members and their children to "Join the Savages" and take home special gifts. Tickets $5-15. 770-798-1350. http://www.savagetree.org.
