Mama Makes Up Her Mind and other Dangers of Southern Living
ART Station Theatre in Stone Mountain Village.

David Thomas' adaptation of Bailey White's novel is a delight full of fun and southern charm. From strange airline food to heavy breathers who don't have a chance, funny and often hilarious vignettes show the relationship between Mama and daughter Bailey. Expressive Karen Howell becomes young Bailey with measles, a girl with her first lip gloss, and one terrific straight "man" for Judy Leavell's charismatic Mama. And Mama is something else. Cheerful, blunt, and nobody's fool, she can charm anyone she sets a mind to, unless they call at the wrong time. David Limbach is well cast as seventeen droll characters (male and female). "Mama" is well-paced from found food to lost fingers. Congratulations to the author and cast for a job exceedingly well done. [POST A COMMENT REGARDING THIS REVIEW]
