I cannot believe this amasing show only played for one weekend. Everyone associated with this play were wonderful.I especially enjoyed the talent of Casey Leigh Thompson who played Tiger Lily. Her dancing and choreography were exciting. [POST A COMMENT REGARDING THIS REVIEW]
Solid Performance..but Nothing New

Lyric's recent performance of Peter Pan offered solid performances from the cast, but besides the well choreographed dance numbers I was totally bored. If you've seen Cathy Rigby's performance of Peter Pan or Disney's animated film, than you saw the Lyric's performance of Peter Pan. I would have loved some new take on the story - change up the set a bit, new look on costumes, different choreography in flying sequence. It was as traditional as turkey on Thanksgiving. Even the direction of the cast was boring - how many times were the actors told downstage center.

There was nothing wrong with the performance. Actors were flying, glitter was shimmered, costumes were authentic, but if you were over the age of 8 or this was not your first time seeing Peter Pan - I think you might have been bored.

Oh my God! I just attended the final matinee of Atlanta Lyric Theater's "Peter Pan" and I must say it was, not only the most impressive play ever presented by Atlanta Lyric, but it was one of the most magical shows ever seen in Atlanta!!!! Look out Theater of The Stars, The Lyric has got it going on. From Broadway caliber sets and costumes to flying effects that wowed the audience at today's show, I was completely blown away. Not only did the cast get a well deserved standing ovation, but the sets got applause too!!! totally professional at every turn. Casey Lee Thompson's choreography stunned the crowed, especially the percussive UggAWug number. Carol Bufford's Peter was completely on target and convincing. Her Neverland number brought tears to my eyes. Daniel Britt's Captain Hook was both menacing and funny. The children were adorable and well cast. Truly another triumph in a season full of hits. Congrats to the cast crew and that amazing broadway pit orchestra!!! Wow! Ask anyone who has seen it. A magical experience. If only it could have had a longer run! Director Brant Blocker has another hit under his belt for the Lyric. A+++ [POST A COMMENT REGARDING THIS REVIEW]
