PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

For two nights only, Process Theatre Company presents a return engagement of our wildly popular staged reading, SORDID LIVES: IT’S A DRAG!, with women playing the good ol’ boys, and men throwing on the big hair and bigger attitude as tough Texas gals.

Grandma Peggy is dead, and all hell has broken loose.

So begins Del Shores’ classic black comedy about white trash, SORDID LIVES. Peggy’s family is left to deal with the fallout following her unexpected death, caused by tripping over her married lover’s wooden legs in a darkened hotel room. The turmoil mounts in Winters, Texas, as her lover’s betrayed wife takes hostages at the juke joint, Peggy’s daughters Lavonda and Latrelle war over funeral arrangements, soap star grandson Ty debates returning from Hollywood, and Tammy Wynette-impersonating son Brother Boy breaks out of the loony bin. Aunt Sissy really picked the wrong day to quit smoking.
