New London Theatre (a non-professional community theatre) provided the venue for "A Snowy Night in Iowa" to play for three performances.

Dateline: April 30, 1945. On this snowy night in a Des Moines, Iowa train station, an African American soldier and an African American WAC find love and humanity in a world gone mad.

For the last performance of "A Snowy Night in Iowa" on August 15, 2009 at New London Theatre, Shade Oyemakinwa played the role of Constance, script in hand. With only 30 minutes warning and two other one acts in which to perform, Ms. Oyemakinwa did a stellar job of giving the New London audience a touching and professional performance.
