PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

It's the comical and touching story of life and friendships in a small Georgia town called "Second Samuel" (the first one burnt down!) and how one little twist turns the tale in this southern fable. You'll meet "B-Flat", a young, mentally-challenged boy, as he gives us a tour of his town (not to mention a new perspective) and the folks that live in it. This very popular play is an Atlanta favorite by our own Pamela Parker. Join us for this pulitzer-nominated, very special play filled with outright laughter and tears as we find out what true friendship is all about! We can guarantee this to be a two-hanky show. "Second Samuel" will stay in your heart for a long time to come. Don't miss it!

For anyone who follows Pamela Parker's work and may have seen this show before, Onstage Atlanta's production is one you don't want to miss. Jeffery Brown has done a wonderful job, as always, in creating a nearly perfect and wonderful show! Stage limitations [14th St/Stage 3] make for a bit of a tango at times, but the acting and the story will draw you in and hold you there. For those who don't know the story, I can say no more without giving away 'the secret'. A "must see" performance! They say to bring a hankie, but it's mostly a knee-slapping comedy with a very strong and important universal message woven into the ending. [POST A COMMENT REGARDING THIS REVIEW]

Great opening night audience gives Second Samuel a standing ovation. This near sell-out crowd laughed and cried along with the good people of Second Samuel. The story is compelling and honest, the performances even and the cast was having a ball, much to the delight of the audience. This should not be missed. [POST A COMMENT REGARDING THIS REVIEW]
