PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

The Essential Theatre is coming back to the Push-Push Theatre space to present the 2002 Festival of New American Theatre - a repertory of three prize-winning new full-length American plays which will play from January 5 through February 3. This year we're very excited to be giving Georgia audiences their first chance to see the newest play from the most acclaimed comic writer in the American Theatre - Christopher Durang. Winner of the Obie Award for Best Play, the New York Times called BETTY'S SUMMER VACATION "an ecstatically angry new comedy; relentlessly fierce, relentlessly funny" and the New York Post named it "the funniest new farce in years." Directed by Peter Hardy, BETTY'S SUMMER VACATION opens January 5 and will feature Patricia French, Melanie Colvert, Shellie Sims, Ricky Marson, Mark Wallace, Jon Moor, Jeffrey Zwartjes, Sarah Falkenburg and Troy Heard.
