PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

The Essential Theatre is coming back to the Push-Push Theatre space to present the 2002 Festival of New American Theatre - a repertory of three prize-winning new full-length American plays which will play from January 5 through February 3. Next to enter the repertory is the latest play from a man who's been one of America's most distinguished and honored playwrights for over thirty years - Pulitzer Prize winner Lanford Wilson, author of such classics as Burn This, Talley's Folly, Fifth of July and The Hot L Baltimore. Winner of the Best Play Award from the American Theater Critics Association, BOOK OF DAYS is a powerful drama about social, religious and personal conflicts within a small American town. The New York Times called it "A significant addition to the Lanford Wilson canon; his best work since Fifth of July." Variety said it was "a thoroughly engrossing depiction of contemporary small-town life with a murder mystery at its core; a splendid evening of theater." Directed by Peter Hardy and opening January 9, the cast of BOOK OF DAYS includes Vanessa Shealy, Chris Pierce, Brandon O'Dell, Patricia French, Morgan Lee, Darren Marshall, Kristin Keating, Morgan Timmis, Corrin Cramer, Patrick McColery, Michael Van Osch and D.B. Millman.
