PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

Last to open will be our World Premiere production of WARTS, a comic drama about growing up in 1950's Philadelphia by Alpharetta's Bill Gibson. WARTS is the winner of our second annual Essential Theatre Playwriting Award, the only such prize exclusively devoted to Georgia writers. Last year's winner, Lauren Gunderson's Parts They Call Deep, played last year to sold-out houses and national media acclaim, and has since gone on to other awards and productions around the country. Directed by Lee Nowell, WARTS will begin performances on January 16 and will feature Kathleen Wattis, Whitt Brantley, Hampton Whatley, Robert Zeigler, William Hadju and Joshua Waterstone in the cast.
