PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

Act3 Productions will present Fame JR. August 1 through 10 at Act3 Playhouse, Sandy Springs Plaza, 6285 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs. Tickets are $8 to $16 and are available at www.act3productions.org. The final offering in Act3’s Summer Stages Series, Fame JR. features a cast of talented middle and high school students under the direction of Johnna Mitchell and Chris Ikner.
The musical, with a high-energy pop score, follows a diverse group of students at New York City’s High School for the Performing Arts. Based on the hit TV show and movie by the same name, the show was conceived and developed for the stage by David De Silva, with book by Jose Fernandez, lyrics by Jacques Levy, and music by Steve Margoshes. While set in the 1980s, the show addresses many issues faced by creative high school students today.
