PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

The Mikado, as with many of Gilbert and Sullivan productions, satirizes aspects of Victorian British politics and aristocracy. In The Mikado, the duo has cloaked these criticisms behind a story set in Japan. Characterized by clever wordplay, memorable tunes, and endearing characters, artistic director Michael Nutters contemporary staging of The Mikado features clever plot twists, some modern technology, and an unexpected use of set design. This will be an enjoyable evening full of laughs!
