PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

Flannery O'Connor meets The Hunchback of Notre Dame in this dark comic love triangle. A hillbilly noir thriller in the spirit of "Blood Simple", lit with a poetic dialogue that belies the rough lives led on the edge of the Great Dismal Swamp.

Inez has been advised by her semi-professional spiritual advisor, Butcher Lee, that The True Lover is coming into her life. Inez thinks she's found him in the person of Druden Leigh Hunt, the local District Attorney who once locked up her husband, Edgar, for extortion. Druden wants to take Inez away to Richmond, but Edgar's out, and Inez knows there's no place she can run from him. After all he's got a buddy who can track fish. There's only one thing Inez can do, and only one man who can do it for her...
