PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

Gianni Schicci wants to provide his daughter a dowry, but he is not wealthy. When Buoso dies, the worst fears of his family are realized and he leaves them penniless. They turn to Schicci to solve their problem. His solution involves a bit of trickery and so they turn on him. Though his daughter will be wed, he must use his wits to fend off the family of Buoso and hold on to his gains.
