PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

This compelling spectacle, the most famous ancient Sanskrit drama, uses masks and rich costuming to tell the story of the love of Brahmin of high standing for a lowly cortesan. The two narrowly escape death at the hands of the evil and false prince, but are united when the true prince reclaims his throne. The play is a feast for the eye and a delight to the mind.
