PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

Marki Shalloe is perhaps Atlanta's finest new playwright. Her recent FOUR GLASSES, which premiered this season, was praised for its humor and fine edged writing. ROUGES, VAGABONDS & STURDY BEGGARS follows the incredible career of Turlough O'Carolan, a 17th Century blind harper who traveled throughout his native Ireland pursuing romance and pledging music to the willing targets of his affections. His compositions and conquests are something of legend. Nevin Miller plays the blind harper, Turlough. Live Celtic Harp and Irish Tin Whistle music featured in this staged reading.
